The team led by Academician Hanjie Ying from the National Research Center for Biochemical Engineering Technology (NERCB) paid a visit to Zhongke Health Industry Group.

On September 4th, Academician Ying Hanjie, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor of Nanjing Tech University and Director of the National Research Center for Biochemical Engineering Technology (NERCB), led his team to visit Zhongke Health Industry Group for discussions and exchanges on jointly building an industry-university-research platform. Also participating in the talks were Li Shishou, Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy and former Vice President of Nanjing Tech University, Zhou Xinming, Senior Consultant of NERCB, Shen Tao, Professor of NERCB at Nanjing Tech University, and other experts and leaders. Wang Lian’an, Chairman of Zhongke Health Industry Group, together with senior leaders of the group’s R&D team, attended the discussions.

Academician Hanjie Ying and his team visited Zhongke Enterprise Exhibition Hall and the Modern TCM Production Hall, and heard a report from Chairman Wang Lian’an on Zhongke’s progress in biomedical scientific research and innovation, talent team development, and the construction of industry-university-research platforms. Academician Ying commended Zhongke for its outstanding achievements in the biotech and health industry, especially in the industrial technology of TCM extraction.

During the exchange forum and discussion, Academician Ying Hanjie introduced that the National Engineering Technology Research Center is an important component of the national innovation system. The research tasks undertaken by the Center include both vertical projects such as the National 863 Program and the National Science and Technology Tackling Program, and horizontal projects like commissioned research and technology transfer projects from biotech enterprises. Centering on practical demands to drive innovation and establish technological innovation platforms, the Center will, on the one hand, pool resources to increase R&D investment and intensify research efforts, and on the other hand, better facilitate the transformation of research achievements to serve industrial development. Going forward, the Center will carry out in-depth cooperation and extensive exchanges with Zhongke, and actively explore feasible paths for jointly building an industry-university-research platform.
