On the afternoon of May 5th, the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Zhongke Hope Primary School and the 41st Scholarship and Grant Awarding Ceremony was successfully held at Jinniuhu Zhongke Hope Primary School in Liuhe District, Nanjing City.
At the event, 54 outstanding students with excellent academic performance and good conduct were awarded scholarships and grants, and 18 teachers from the school received the Excellent Teacher Award.
Wu Shengxing, Full-time Vice Chairman and First-Class Inspector of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the China National Democratic League, Zhan Feifu, Secretary-General of the committee, Wang Guquan, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Liuhe District Committee and Director of the Liuhe District Bureau of Education of Nanjing, Wang Zhilan, Principal of Jinniuhu Zhongke Hope Primary School in Liuhe District, and Wang Lian’an, Chairman of Zhongke Health Industry Group, together with other leaders, distinguished guests, as well as all faculty, staff and students of the school attended the event.
Principal Wang Zhilan of Zhongke Hope Primary School stated in her speech at the event: Over the past two decades, with the generous care and support from the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD), Zhongke Health Industry Group, the Liuhe District Bureau of Education, local governments and all sectors of society, our school has gradually developed into a modern rural primary school in Jinniuhu Sub-district, Liuhe District. We have created a sound educational environment for the healthy growth of children from peasant families around Jinniuhu Lake. Going forward, we will further strengthen school management and strive to improve the quality of education and teaching, living up to the ardent expectations of all sectors of society.
Chairman Wang Lian’an of Zhongke Health Industry Group said in his speech: Zhongke Group actively fulfills its social responsibilities and has carried out public welfare student assistance initiatives for 20 consecutive years. While striving to upgrade the hardware teaching facilities of the Hope Primary School, we have made great efforts to integrate more educational resources, enabling the children of Zhongke Hope Primary School to have access to higher-quality education. Moving forward, we will continue to fund Zhongke Hope Primary School and support the cause of rural education as always, and contribute Zhongke’s strength to the implementation of the Rural Revitalization Strategy.
Wang Guquan, Director of the Liuhe District Bureau of Education, stated: The Project Hope is a public welfare initiative that raises social funds to support basic education and subsidize the schooling of poor students, a great undertaking that brings benefits to the present and secures prosperity for the future. While focusing on its own development, Zhongke Group never forgets to give back to society. Such assistance and care not only encourage students to study diligently and strive for progress, but also strengthen all teachers’ ideals and beliefs of rooting themselves in rural areas, committing to lifelong education and dedicating themselves to the cause. It is hoped that Jinniuhu Zhongke Hope Primary School will take the 20th anniversary as an opportunity to continue to focus on advancing the school’s distinctive running features and enhancing its connotative development, and make positive contributions to building education satisfactory to the people.
It is reported that in response to the “Candlelight Action for Rural Education” launched by the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, Zhongke Hope Primary School was founded on March 27, 2003, with joint donations from the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, Zhongke Group and other organizations. Up to now, Zhongke Group has cumulatively awarded scholarships and grants to 3,973 students, provided Dream Realization Grants to 112 college students who graduated from the Hope Primary School, and presented the Excellent Teacher Award to a total of 750 recipients. Over the past 20 years, to support the construction and development of the Hope Primary School, Zhongke Group has invested a total of more than 6 million yuan in cash and donated materials worth over 10 million yuan.
Against the backdrop of the double reduction policy in education, Zhongke Group has paid greater attention to the learning and growth environment of the children at the Hope Primary School. It has equipped the school with modern teaching equipment such as computers and set up specialized teaching spaces including a music room, an art room and a library. On festivals such as Children’s Day, Teachers’ Day and New Year’s Day, the Group has invited institutions such as the Purple Mountain Observatory and Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital to the school to jointly carry out a variety of science popularization co-construction activities, so as to broaden the children’s horizons and stimulate their curiosity and desire to explore.
Zhongke Group also keeps a close eye on the growth of the children at the Hope Primary School. It has opened its corporate doors and given priority to solving the future employment problems of the school’s graduates.
